About Us

Since October 2025, RHCG has worked with Huon Valley Council to care for Ranelagh Soldiers’ Memorial Hall. We also aim to gather and implement ideas for growing community, improving the amenity and building social cohesion in Ranelagh. Our values include respect for diversity, recognising the needs and valuing the contributions of all members of our community.

During the past year, RHCG has organised a number of community events, including a get-together on Ranelagh Green, a circus skills workshop in the hall for little and big kids, a board games afternoon, as well as the October Makers Market. We will finish the year with a Bush Dance in the hall on Saturday 28 November – you can find more info, including booking details, on our Events page.

We have also been advocating for ways to make Ranelagh better for residents and visitors alike, including:

  • preserving and improving our village Green,
  • establishing walkways and improving access to the river at Mosquito Point,
  • protecting and improving the Ranelagh Community Playground,
  • improved public transport options,
  • community garden
  • revised speed limits along Agnes and Marguerite Streets.

We will be conducting a mini-survey at the Makers Market to check what residents and visitors most value about our community, or see as challenges. Following this, we will be conducting a more in-depth community consultation, and we hope to make contact with as many people in our community as possible.
